damp problem not covering over very well - emulsioned and oil based gloss over it

Got a hint from someone on fb but it hasn't worked. I have a damp patch only bedroom wall were the rain leaked in, emulsioned but damp came through, so I put an oil based gloss over it waited to it was dry and emulsion again but the gloss is not covering any. help please

You have to fix the source of the damp, or if it is fixed allow time for it to dry out, if its still damp no amount of sealant will do it.

try a paint called bin excellant stainblocker when dry just paint over oil or water based paint
