Full Rewire: Which Makes (LAP, MK, Crabtree etc)?

Crabtree is made in the UK and is excellent quality and value for money, plus are very robust. Forget LAP its poor quality Chinese rubbish made exclusively for screwfix, often breaks after just a few weeks/months use. MK switches etc are mostly made in Malaysia these days, quality is OK, but the high price makes them less appealing, plus they are harder to install than Crabtree switches and sockets. The MK Sentry consumer units are not too bad, so fuseboard wise its really a choice between MK or Wylex. Forget using Crabtree for the fuseboard, as although its well designed the busbar arrangement means that its very difficult to alter the number of MCB's etc without buying new parts. Where as the MK Sentry board is very flexible and is easily re-configured. MK ceiling ceiling roses are very good (probably there best product). So in short its worth getting a mix of products if you want the best as no one manufacturer is great in all areas. Aico are a very good brand for smoke and heat alarms. Wylex are good, although click is quite a cheap make so they are saving money on the switches and sockets. Never heard of Vimark, so probably cheap Chinese rubbish. Xpelair are OK, but Vent Axia are much better, although more expensive.
