Water supply does not cut out after flushing (push button toilet cistern)

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.09 PM

The water supply does not cut off after flushing, have taken the lid off but can't see what regulates and turns off the water supply.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It will either be a traditional Ball Cock & Valve, a side entry or bottom entry filling valve. or even a Cable Dual-Flush Valve. See link below for an examples: http://www.screwfix.com/p/fluidmaster-bottom-entry-fill-valve-uk/84007 http://www.screwfix.com/p/fluidmaster-push-button-cable-dual-flush-valve/51173

Hi Alan, It sounds like the ballvalve is stuck open, as there are so makes on the market today, its hard to advise you without seeing the problem.

Sounds like the ball valve is getting stuck or letting by simple fix either replace inlet/diaphragm on inlet or if you find water runs into the bowl after flushing could mean the flush valve needs looking at. Thanks Adams plumbing
