Manual digging with no access for Digger!

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.05 PM

My disabled son needs a play room (sensory room). The plan is to tear down the old wooden conservatory and build a room there measuring 4x4mtr. I have the plans agreed through my local council (Chelmsford) and also had some ridiculous quotes! The problem is, i am a carer, and I dont have an income as such, therefore in order to save money, i will need to do what i can and source out the remaining work. The problem is, i don't have any proper side access for a digger, so i was wondering of the best course of action to dig my trench? I also have to re-do his wet room thats fallen apart, but thats another task for another day. p.s shall i hire a mini breaker or something?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Peter is correct but what you need is a micro digger they are desigd to go through a standard doorway or side alley way they way 1ton or less so you could take it through the house if required. We can arrange hire if required. thanks Scott

I have only suggestions, you can hire a mini digger that goes through a 750mm doorway and a tracked dumper that does the same, other ideas, can you take fence panel out to gain access then put back on completion You will get ridiculous quotes because nobody wants this type of work unless there can make a killing out of it Peter

As the above said, there will be local men and diggers for hire local to you. You will be surprised where and what they can do with a machine to save hand digging. We have brought micro digger through people kitchen to get to the back gardens (we have public liability in place just incase - but never had a probelm)
