Damage to new bi-fold doors from builder while they were cleaning

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.33 PM

I specifically asked my builder to remove paint and rendering residue from my 4-panel bi-fold doors he installed. This has been completed but from someone he has put on the job, but every glass panel looks like it's been cleaned with something abrasive, and huge circular scratch makes are on the outside of the glass. The aluminium on the frame has been damaged too. I have £800 left to pay from my extension cost, with a lot of work remaining. I will give the builder the option to suggest repairs, but I have a feeling he will walk. This has been an awful process :-( I am assuming he is obliged to repair this?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Pay for the works and go through the builders Public Liability insurers for recovery / replacement - give your buildings insurer a ring for advice, they may assist. Document everything you do.... Regards Andrew @ Fibretechs
