Best new roof for wind resistance and no moss (allergies)
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.09 PM
Hello, I currently have Marley tiles and a gable fronted house. I live in an elevated & exposed area, 2 tiles came off in a freak gust in the summer a few years ago & wrecked my car! Need to park near house. Current is badly patched, not keen on slates (colour), I do like red ceramic. What are my options for tiles that stay put, also in the distant future may have PV solar panels. Thanks very much.

concrete marley eternit tiles are best for wind resistance and due to the weight tradesman rarely nail them down so I suggest that due to the exposure to strong winds ensure each tile is securely nailed down, also a smooth finish tile rather than a rough finish would make it more difficult for moss to stay on the tile as there isn't much for it to grip onto, but as added protection the roof tiles can be treated with anti fungicide wash
