Installed new combi boiler (Worcester Greenstar 30Si) - shower only operates on full heat

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.08 PM

Hi, Just had a new Worcester Greenstar 30Si installed, and now my shower (Mira Pace) only operates on full heat. The installer said that this could be fixed by turning down the temperature on the boiler, but this just cuts the pressure. It essentially looks like there is no cold feed coming through. Is this fixable or do I need a new shower? Cheers

As soon as a hot water demand is placed on your boiler the burner goes directly to full rate and then modulates down to maintain a set temperature, you can as you have stated turn the hot water stat down on your boiler for lower temperature's, the burner indirectly recognises the lower setting and modulates accordingly. Your installer should have checked the shower for correct operation as part of his 'Benchmark' tests but I feel he has not so please ask him to re-attend to investigate your concerns. Ps. Good choice of boiler.
