Do I have to share a new build party wall?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.08 PM

A neighbour owns some land but I own a corner section of it that is used to park cars ( this is opposite our houses). The neighbour wants to build a party / boundary wall. I have no interest in it nor require it. Do I have to share the party wall with them, i.e. if it's 6 inches thick have to have 3 inches on my property or can I force them to built the entire wall on their side?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, your neighbour can build ONLY on his land to the middle of the party wall unless you agree with different. alex

If your neighbour wants to build a dividing wall between your property and theirs, then they must build this entirely within their property boundary, including any foundations.
