Reconnect gas pipe for supply to terraced house.

I have a terraced house with a gas supply pipe, capped off, inside the house. The gas transporter company have told me that the pipe is not live and needs to be reconnected. Who do I ask to reconnect this pipe and fit a gas meter?

If this is the incoming gas main that has been capped off it is the responsibility of your GAS PROVIDER not transporter, speak to your preferred gas provider and ask for 'new connections' They will send an operative to attend to re-instate the gas supply along with a new meter installation.

it can be done only by your gas supplier. Only a licensed gas supplier can arrange to fit a new meter...
