Painting on new plaster - can I use cheap brand white matt emulsion (watered down) for mist coat?

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.50 PM

I've just had my walls plastered and am waiting for them to thoroughly dry before applying the mist coat. I've got decent dulux Matt paint for the proper coats but can I use a cheap b&q brand, white, Matt emulsion watered down for the mist coat? Got lot's left over from another project and it would be great to use it up. Thanks in advance

A common practice is to use cheaper paint as primer / ground to the correct paint.
