My builder has left without finishing his job and left behind is tool.

Hi Just let him know, his tools are there and will be sold on if he doesn't collect them within a week. If he was bothered about them he wouldn't leave them. Unless he has a family crisis... he should collect them within a week.

Hi Angela, It is always important to remember that a tradesmans tools are his lifeline and if he has left them on site, then there may be good cause for doing so. I would use all forms of communication i.e phone (leave message) text and email, give him a weeks notice to collect and if no reply, put them in a cupboard or store somewhere for his return. You are opening a can of worms by allowing another builder to use or be in vicinity of another mans tools, we are not thieves but it is easy to put tools in a toolbag without realising they are yours and take them home. He is risking this though, so its a dual responsibility if any are misplaced or lost. why did he leave ,is he ill. or walked off the job ,you need him to colect his tools ,before setting on another builder,

When your builder left did he say wether he is coming back, if no then contact him and tell him to collect all his tools within 7 days as your hiring some one else.
