Damp patches after shower on newly plastered bathroom wall
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.05 PM
Hi, I just had my bathroom fully renovated, with new plastered walls. I have now decorated it as well. The problem is that after a shower, dark patches appear on an internal wall and they are very wet to the touch. Also on some places on the wall it sound hollow. it is an internal wall and next to it is a bedroom but with a chimney between the 2. Any suggestions on what this could be?

It could be that your chimney is not capped thus allowing water in, or it could be that a moisture resistant board has not been used and the water from the shower is seeping into the wall.
