Priming walls with PVA prior to replacing tiles?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.05 PM
Hello, I am currently in the process of having my bathroom tiles replaced. The bathroom is currently tiled approximately 2/3 of the way up the wall and the room is approximately 18 square metres. My tiler has not began work yet however he has provided me with a list of materials to buy. Essentially he is suggesting decorators PVA for priming the walls, alongside a mix of 3 bags Unibond standard set adhesive and 1 bag Unibond rapid set adhesive. My question is; Is PVA adhesive suitable for use in this situation? The PVA Adhesive in question is: http://www.diy.com/nav/decor/decorating-tools-and-supplies/glue-tape-adhesives-sealants/adhesives/-brand-Diall/Diall-2-5L-Decorators-PVA-12599078 The tiler wants to be be paid per day, which i agreed to. However i was quite surprised that his rate was far lower than other quotes i've had. I just dont want to end up with any problems later.. He is not due to start for some weeks yet. I am a little concerned after doing some reading online, but i am no professional and am aware i could just be worrying over nothing. I hope someone can enlighten me on this. Many thanks _________ Hi Andy Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, it is highly appreciated and has been very helpful with helping me decide how to proceed.
