Regulations are clear that electrical work as a minimum should be carried out by a competent person. sorry but it has to be said given the above statement you are not a competent person so the only sensible help I am able to give you is put this job on line and get a registered electrician in to correct the wiring you have messed up. It sounds like you have used the N line from the hall to the bathroom as a S/L this is unlikely to mean anything to you but your electrician will know what to do.

All electrical work in the bathroom is covered by BS7671:2008 and Part P of the building regulations. Therefore electrical testing with certified and calibrated test instruments is required in order that an electrical certificate can be issued. It would appear that your DIY skills are below the competency level required for this task and that you don't have the correct test equipment to hand. To save yourself from getting a £5000 fine from building control, hire a Part P registered electrician and get the job sorted out properly. Its a very simple fix and should be under £50.

I would suggest you call in an electrician. With all due respect its unwise to attempt these jobs yourself as there are regulations and safety issues here. An electrician should be able to test and sort it out for you in a very short time. Cost wise very much depends on what part of the country you are in. Hope this helps.
