Burlington close-coupled W.C. - failing cistern mechanism

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.50 PM

I have had a Burlington Regal close coupled W.C. with lever for two years. During that time the modern cable mechanism has failed and I replaced it and it failed again. Burlington say some people have replaced it with an old-fashioned ball cock mechanism and that I will have to buy the new lever as well. It seems other people have had this trouble! My plumber has bought a universal ball cock system but it is a tiny bit too big. He says they are all a bit different. Has anyone changed the flimsy modern mechanism for a ball cock system and which type did they use? Knowing the exact kind means I could get it and that would save him a lot of time trawling round to try and get the right thing. Thanks to anyone who has the expertise for this.
