what to lay 2x2 paving slabs on

i am laying flags on my drivei was going to lay them on a sand and cement wet mix but ive been told i should be laid on just grit sand ive already laid a base of crush and run stone that has been compacted solid
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would lay them on sand and cement a strong mix

Hi,
I always lay slabs on a wet mix, especially on driveways. Over time a sand base is liable to move meaning the slabs become uneven.monce hard a wet mix is solid and also binds to the slab and base, reducing the risk of movement.
