The hot tap won't stop running

The hot tap is stuck on full and won't switch off. How do I stop it, the house is damp now and I need an fix ASAP. By the way the valve dose nothing, and has needed a new one for a while.

hi there. it sounds like your washer has gone completely you might be able to stop it by turning the cold feed off to your hot water cylinder found next to cylinder normally a gate valve with a red wheel type handle temporary to the plumber gets there hope this helps Brian (BJD.DRAINS & PLUMBING SERVICES).
