Cellar beams and floorboards above rotten, stone floor sunk.

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.04 PM

I have noticed that a couple of the beams in my cellar are not in the best of states, and a couple of the boards they are supporting are really quite rotten, one snapped in half. These support an original stone flag floor. After taking up the carpet to check I have discovered that above the rotten board one of the flags has sunk about 5-8mm. Is it possible to treat and replace any boards and beams from below or will the stone flags have to be lifted from above and relayed? There is only a cellar under about 30% of the house.
