Do you lay UFH first or install bi-fold doors first?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.04 PM

I am laying down wet Underfloor heating and installing bi-fold doors. The plumber/builder has dug up the flooring in preparation for the UFH and the double glazer has removed the old doors and waiting to install the bi-fold doors. The plumber/builder has said he needs the doors put in first so that he can lay the screed flush with the sill of the doors, however the double glazer is asking for the floor to be laid first, as there is a 20mm difference from one side to the other of the floor that is in front of the doors. Is there a correct order of doing things, does it matter which goes first?

you need to get both the plumber/builder and the double glaze company in the same room at the same time and set a common datum which both contractors will need to work to this should be set a FFL finish floor level. you will need to know what floor finish you intend to lay and do not change it as the floor and doors will be set to accommodate the level
