Regulations on boiler above eye level grill

I have just bought a freestanding cooker with eye level grill, But gas engineer refused to fit it because the boiler is above the grill Can you please tell me the regulations on this. Terry

Common sense has prevailed here, the engineer has deemed the relative position of the boiler in relation to a potential proposed heat source i.e. eye level grill A RISK. There are regulations relating to this situation BS6798.
