dry stone single faced retaining wall 1m high. depth of foundation

Hi. I need to rebuild a dry stone single faced retaining wall. At present the wall has collapsed. It has no foundation and is on clay. My intention is to pull the wall down, put a foundation in to carry a retaining block wall 4" wide and and then mortar the stone wall face to it. It retains soil and planting at 1m high. What depth of foundation at 600 wide is best?

You only need to be 450 wide x 500 deep, 450 deep concrete less blocks and stone less hassle
