Look at your house deeds of ownership it states on there who is responsible for the border of your property, think you own the fence to the right of your house looking at your front door

This is a very common problem its a dividing fence between two properties and one will pay the other wont..my advice as long as you are in your own property boundary erect the fence and make sure the good facing side of the fence is facing your property... if the fence is between two front gardens then i believe the maximum height is 3 ft if it is at the side or back of the property it can be 6ft or 8ft anything over I believe you need to speak to the council As a homeowner you a perfectly within your rights to erect a fence
