Ceiling fixed after leak but warped...how to fix??
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.04 PM
We had a water leak and had the problem fixed where the plumber cut hole in plasterboard ceiling, as this was under our insurance they came to repair hole but now we have another problem as the leak was a very slow drip over a period of time the ceiling has warped and is about an inch gap between joist and plasterboard. So they have now repaired but have a big step between where they fixed the new plaster board and where the old plaster board begins about an inch....how can we fix this??

I think your ceiling should be examined by a plasterer who know what they are doing to give you the best options on how to rectify this problem. sometimes without viewing the issue directly it could become confusing

Its never easy to give an assessment on such things without seeing the problem but i would imagine you may need to feather the two different levels out with some bonding plaster and then skim the whole area as much as is necessary to lose the difference in levels. If i could see an image or two id know immediately.
