Would it prove too difficult to install a wall mounted tap on an external wall in my cloakroom?

The wall is breezeblock with dot and dab plasterboard covering it and am uncertain whether it would be possible to cut into the block for pipework installation without build strength being compromised. Wondered how much would have to be cut for pipework to go in.

Yeah that's fine. You only have to chase out about inch and a half to run the pipes up. Don't forget to protect them from the mortar though. It's easier if your tiling over where they come out of the wall too to give it extra strength.

Hi,
The extrnal wall should be doulble skinned and with the addition of dot and dab boards you have plenty of deapth that you can sink your pipework into without affecting the structural integrity of your property. any pipework sunk into an external wall should be protected and insulated so i would considder using plastic pipework which has greater insulation properties and will resist any degradation from the blockwork.
