Will we need to erect scaffolding to be able to paint back of house above conservatory?

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.37 PM

I need the outside of my house painting (wooden fascias/small area of rendering only) but have a conservatory at the rear which restricts access to part of the back of the property. Will scaffolding need to be erected over the conservatory in order to do this painting? Is there any other way of doing this? If scaffolding is needed should the painter be able to organise or are we best doing this ourselves directly?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Due to health and safety laws ...yes a scaffold is the safest method anyway... your decorator should be able to organize hire of scaffold or you could do it yourself..your choice really, just finished one my self.

You need scaffold up either side of consevatory, with span beams going over, good idea to lay some dust sheets over roof first, then couple of sheets of ply, in case anything falls. Another option, and might be cheaper, if you google Ladder Safety Devices, they have a ladder system that take appropiate brackets to enable youngman boards to sit on, also come with all safety rails. Best check with your painter first, to see if hes confident on these, as they are only 600mm wide.
