Bricklaying & Repointing

How long should you allow for mortar to go off?

We are laying a course of bricks to act as the foundation for some raised beds. How long should we leave the bricks before we can start assembling the beds (reclaimed railway sleepers) above? Thanks,

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If you are using a sand and cement mix of around 5:1(five parts sand to one part cement)The Brickwork will be ready to take a "load" the next working day .Regards Darren.
