Push button trickling and cistern not filling, but can be solved by removing lid

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.07 PM

I have a similar question to http://www.mybuilder.com/questions/v/17356/toilet-constantly-trickling in that my push button toilet keeps running after I flush the toilet and the cistern does not fill. However, I’ve found that I can solve the problem by lifting the lid off (which is attached to the small white square box with wire attached), moving/tilting the lid around a bit, and then at some point the toilet stops running, cistern fills up and all is OK. Therefore could the problem still be the seal, or is it likely to be something else (e.g. the wire connection) is not working properly? Appreciate any help / advice as it's a bit of a nuisance having to take the lid off and moving it around each time the toilet is flushed!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It sound like the cable is fouling on part of the inner workings when lid is fitted try re-routing cable or adjusting inner workings to resolve.
