Removed wall to make driveway and neighbour's pillar became loose
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.07 PM
My front garden has a wall and I took the wall off to make driveway. However the neighbour has their own pillar standing right next to my wall on their side which according to them became loose when I took my wall down. My builder offered to make good of loose pillar or make new one, however they don't want that as they don't like the quality of his bricks. According to them it was a party pillar and I should have consulted them before starting work on my driveway. As I was taking my own wall off and not a party wall I couldn't see why I need their permission. They're not telling me what they want and I tried to be as much polite as I can by offering to match the brick they have on their other pillar. The wall which I removed is along the pavement so it is infront of my property not between the two properties so cannot be a partywall. They just want to harrass us that's all. Now I would like to know what they can do legally to us? Many thanks
