Permission for changing a three bedroom flat to a two bedroom flat

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.03 PM

I have just bought a first floor three bedroom flat and want to knock down a non load bearing wall to make a more open plan living room. This will make it then into a two bedroom. In addition a want to extend the bathroom to remove a cupboard. Question is, do I need to seek permission in carrying out this work bearing in mind if I have bought it?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Any Alterations to a Leasehold property require the consent of the freeholder. Most Leasehold properties have a plan registered with the Land registry which ideally could be changed but be careful as removing bedrooms from a dwelling could possibly devalue your property too!
