Neighbour won't remove fencing despite solicitors letter and title deeds stating it is on my land
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.49 PM
The neighbour has put a fence up before I bought the property, have since found out from the title deeds it in on my land and needs to be moved further up, have approached him and he is adamant he is right and will not move it. Solicitors letter sent from me showing him the title deeds and asking him to remove it. He still said he is right and wont move it!! I cannot afford the solicitors costs as this could go on forever, can I take the fence down and let him go to Solicitors and pay the fees??
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

personally I would send him a letter dated giving him a reasonable period to remove his illegal fence, say 28 days, informing him failure to do so will result in it being removed any time after this date with any damage being caused in the removal at his expense.
then if he does not remove it, remove it carefully causing as little damage as possible stacking it on his property.
good luck Alex
