Tiling

Tiling in an old police cell (glazed bricks)

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.03 PM

I have three old police cells in my house, the walls of which are glazed bricks not tiles. One is used as a bathroom - can I tile around the bath/shower area directly onto the glazed bricks?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes you can,it is just the same as tiling onto old tiling but give them a slurry coat using SBR (not PVA) mixed with either cement or a powder tile adhesive let it harden this will give you a good bond then use a powder adhesive for fixing.
