Why aren't my halogen spotlights working when replaced?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.07 PM
Hi, I recently purchased my first house which has halogen spotlights I'm several rooms. When a bulb blows, which quite a few have/already had when I moved in, I have tried replacing it bulb for bulb but that spotlight still doesn't work. The other spotlights in the room do still work. This is happening in three separate rooms. Thanks in advance. Paul

possibly transformers if the lamps are low voltage or burned out lamp holders as halogen lamps run very hot. Two of the simpler solutions hope that helps.

Chances are they are MR16 type bulbs and the transformers that are connected to the lights (inside the ceiling void) have burnt out. This is a very common problem.

Possibly loose connections on the fittings if other light are working, could be defective lamp holders if 12V fittings...
May be an idea for an electrician to give them an overhaul?
