placing of roof vent tiles

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.32 PM

i have recently had white mould growing on attic timbers and was recommended to get some vents put in to aid air circulation. i have had 3 vents put in by a roofer but they have all been put along the back of the roof and none on the front, is this correct? also it looks like he has punched the wood out rather than cutting!!! should the vents have been placed on front roof as well ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes, it is cross ventilation that's required just having vents along one side will not have much effect. Note you also need to make sure that the air can flow from the vent into the loft space i.e not obstructed by loft insulation.
