Emulsion wrinkled after applied to sealant on new plaster wall

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.49 PM

I applied sealant to a new plaster wall. When I then applied emulsion, this "wrinkled"> The plaster and sealant had both fully dried. Why did the emulsion wrinkle?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Should of just used a mist coat 50/50 water and emulsion, this is a cheaper option and allows the plaster to breath Also If you used a oil based sealant this would not allow the plaster to breath causing the water based paint to react. Hope this was useful. Neil T M D Decorating

Depends on what sealant and paint you have used, different brands mixed can sometimes cause a reaction
