Can I set my alarm for the night from upstairs?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.06 PM
Hi, We live in a town house and currently only use the burglar alarm when we go out as the keypad is near the front door. We are thinking of using it more and would like to know if we can get an additional keypad fitted upstairs to set the alarm for the night? If we are on the top floor, it would be nice to not have to go down 2 floors to set the alarm. Many thanks.

Yes you can get additional keypads or depending on the type of system you have you maybe able to get a remote keyfob so set the system with.

To be fair, this will be system dependant but is often possible.
1. The system must support extra keypads to add a keypad. Most modern systems support more than 1 keypad.
2. The system needs to have the parts available (some systems may have been discontinued and extra keypads unavailable).
3. Without the additional keypad it may still be possible to create a part set, how this works will be dependant on your system and the route from the keypad and the bedrooms.
4. some systems can be setup to be armed/disarmed etc via a mobile phone or tablet again this will depend on the system you have and its capabilities as to possible solutions for you.
