Glow worm conventional vented boiler - should I fit a combi?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.06 PM

I am extending my house and adding another hallway, bedroom and bathroom to make 4 bed 2 bathroom. I've currently got an old glowworm conventional vented boiler with a tank and airing cupboard. The boiler works OK but a little noisy and in the wrong place and so is the airing cupboard which needs to come out to make the extension passage way. I'm concerned that fitting a combi in place of a convention vented boiler will reduce water flow/pressure to the showers. Even a reasonable combi only give a 17 ltrs/min flow. Is this enough. if not can i fit a seal system boiler ??? can i put the holding tank in the loft. Many thanks paul

Anymore than 1 bathroom and I'd always recommend a conventional boiler. As long as your mains water pressure is good and your pipework can handle mains pressure (not too old) your best bet is as you say to fit a sealed system boiler
