How many pendant lights can I connect to one lighting track?
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.49 PM
I'm designing a window display which consists of a large number of pendant lights. I am unsure as to how many lights I can connect to one lighting track and what specification it should be? The lights are 60 LED / warm white / 4.0 watt / lifespan 30.000 hours / dimmable. any help would be great Thanks

Decide how many lamps you want in the display and design the circuit to suit the requirements. If the circuit is serving nothing else then on a standard 6A circuit you can run up to 1380w so the reality is you can fit as many as 4w lamps you like(up to345).

I would check the instructions or contact the manufacturer to be sure, but if you're only putting LED lights in, it shouldn't overload the track to be honest.

Without more information on the size of the circuit fuse and the make and model number of the lighting track its a very difficult question to answer.

Do you know if they are mains powered (GU10) or low voltage fittings (MR16)
Failing that a photo of the track would be great.

Hi Sam,
The number of pendants will depend on the current rating of your lighting track. Could you find out what the supply voltage and current rating of the track are? If so, we could then calculate the maximum number of lamps.
Hope that helps,
Ian
