How difficult and long to move a radiator (concrete floors)?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.06 PM
We are about to move into a new build flat and want to change a horizontal radiator to a slim upright radiator. One pipe will therefore stay where it is but one will have to be moved and this one comes out of the wall into the top right hand corner of the radiator rather than into the bottom. The wall comes slightly out where the radiator is so I presume that the pipes come down from above? Can anyone advise how difficult it would be to move the pipework and install the radiator and how many hours it might take? Many thanks.

Hello, if it is a new build property and is a stud built wall then an access panel would need to be cut into the plasterboard so the pipe can be re run to the correct position for your chosen radiator.
Done carefully and with some patience the plasterboard can be screwed back into position. Fill over the cuts and screw heads and re paint the wall.

Best give your local heating engineer a call to quote, difficult to assess cost and time blindly.
