shower pump only comes on once we turn a tap on.

Hi Guys, We have a strange problem. We have a shower pump fitted, it works perfectly when any tap around the house is turned on. But for our mixer shower, it will not come on when we turn the shower on - unless we turn a tap on and then it works! Any ideas?
