Loft Conversion

Damp in loft conversion - chimney has been reclad but how do I figure out if still an issue?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.06 PM

I recently purchased a house and I have some damp on the wall of the loft converted room, I believe the chimney has been re-clad recently to resolve this according to the home report. Am just wondering, how do I figure out if there is still an issue here or if it is just a result of the chimney issue which has since been resolved? And also, in this scenario would I need to strip the walls and replace them?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

if the damp patch is getting bigger or is not drying out you still have a problem, when you say the chimney has been re clad do you mean re pointed or has it been rendered or a separate cladding applied around the chimney.
