Living room wooden floor in 1920s house not level!
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.06 PM
Hi all. I have just purchased a 1926 3 bed detached property with the usual slight cracking (not much) which has been checked by a structural engineer, nothing to worry about! just aged slight movement. but as a result one room downstairs is not level, and upstairs one room is slightly unlevel but enough to feel. regarding downstairs the engineer said he would remove all wooden floors and joists and replace with hardcore insulation grid metal and concrete to all the downstairs costing approx £4000, ok if i had the money!! or is there a cheaper easier way?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes you could get a couple of skilled joiners to take the floor boards up level or replace some off the collapsed joist and finish with some new chip board flooring
hope this helps

Take all floorboards off. Make level using wood stripes on all around room, and fit old floor back
It's match better and cheaper way
