Bathroom Fitting

Bathroom fitter wanted me out of the house when he did refit

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.49 PM

My bathroom fitter wanted me out of the house when he did the refit. When he came around to give a quote, I told him I was off for a few days and that that's when I wanted it done. He didn't say it bothered him then but 2 days before he was meant to start, he says he wanted me out! I told him that I'd be home and guess what - he didn't turn up. My work colleagues had someone at home when they get theirs done. Am I really out of order for wanting to make sure the work's done how I want it done?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, it's not out of order for you to be around when the works being completed. It's your house and you need to make sure the work is carried out to your requirements. You made him aware you would be at home. Most tradesmen would not have a problem with this, it would probably mean they would have hot drinks on tap!

I totally agree with the response from Mayfield Plumbing, it's perfectly reasonable for you to be at home while any tradesman is there, after all, it's your property. Also makes it easier for us if we want to double check anything with you.
