Moving washing machine to pantry/larder cupboard

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.06 PM

Hi, We have just moved in to a two-up, two-down Victorian terrace and want to re-fit the kitchen. As space is limited, we want to move the existing washing machine which is under the worksurface to the pantry/larder cupboard that is also in the kitchen (in the space under the stairs). The cupboard is currently where the water and electricity metres are, but these are on the wall and would be well above the height of the machine. If we assume that the machine itself fits in there, is it actually possible to do this in terms of safety and ease? Thanks

A water meter in the cupboard? Do you mean gas meter. If so, you cannot use a meter cupboard containing a gas meter for storage. If there isn't then as this may be a temporary option this should be ok.
