Bathroom Fitting

Leak and roof damage - where do I stand?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.06 PM

Hey I just wanted to know where I stand with this situation. I had a bathroom fitted, my mum authorised the work which has no contract in place. The work was finished but on the same night, the Pushfits pipe popped and has caved in the ceiling. Now I called the guy out who had carried the work out and he's offered to fix the ceiling but because of the amount of water leaked the floor has bulged up, also light fittings were damaged. What can I do where do I stand? And what makes this even worse is he said he doesn't have any of the receipts. Should add this was negotiated without me there.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
