Plug sockets not working after plugging iPhone charger in socket

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.32 PM

I plugged an iPhone charger in a socket and then bang, thing is, no switches are down on my fuse box, no socket in the house works but my lights etc are still working. I have removed all plugs from sockets and still nothing. Any ideas?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Clearly the Chinese made charger that has exploded has caused some sort of wiring damage creating a break in the circuit. This needs a part p registered electrician to carry out some diagnostic testing to ascertain the continuity of the circuit conductors and where the break has occurred. Due to the skills and electrical test equipment needed its not a DIY job.

The problem will be easy to locate and diagnose by a registered electrician. Not meant disparagingly but if you don't know where to start it would not be responsible to advise you into an area where you are not classed as competent.

Call an Electrician registered with the Electrical Safety Register before doing anything else!
