Heavy wooden front door that jams and is pulling away a bit of the door frame

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.02 PM

The door seems to expand when it's wet and cold, and then it jams. It's done this a bit for years, but now it's getting serious as it's getting badly stuck on the stone lintel as well as on the closing edge, and on the hinge side it's starting to pull away the panelled and, I think, concrete door surround. What should we do and what trade do we need? It's an early Victorian house and original door, that;s basically in good condition so we don't want to replace it.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Basically, you need to re-support and install properly your door lining (door frame) first. Due to heavy solid wood door. Carpenter & joinery trades will help (must have the knowledge of traditional wood work). Regards
