Plumbing

One cistern feeding two separate hot water systems.

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.05 PM

Can I successfully supply cold water from one tank in my roof to two hot water systems which will be on different floors below the tank? Each of the two hot water cylinders thus fed would have a simple system of immersion heater with an expansion pipe ending above the tank. If the tank is large enough to maintain a cold feed supply when hot water is drawn from both cylinders at the same time will everything work or could there be some unwanted interaction between the two systems?

You only need to be assured the tank can maintain the feed for the two cylinders and that you leave enough expansion space for the two cylinders (space between water level at full when cylinders are cold and overflow level above expansion level when cylinders are hot)
