Noise coming through standard open/close upvc window, can I tighten this up more?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.05 PM

I have a single window that opens one way (I.e. not tilt and turn) when it's closed you can still hear sounds through where it should seal tightly. It doesn't leak (yet) but want to know if there's a way of making the window a tighter seal when the window is closed and the handle is locked down. My other windows don't sound like this so I know it's not sealing tight enough.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, if you look at the locking system that runs down the side or bottom of the sash you should see the movable locking parts, the mushrooms. They should have a hole in which you can put a Alan key in to move them, try moving them, that will make the locking more tight. Paul
