Low water pressure to electric shower - install single impeller pump?

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.32 PM

I have fitted an electric 10.5KW shower to the cold supply of a gravity fed system. unfortunately the pressure is not good enough, can I install a single impeller pump to get it working. Also I notice that pumps are positive, negative or both - which do I need?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It is not normal practice to fit an electric shower to a gravity fed cold water supply, I would recommend you install the shower to a mains cold water feed as per the manufacturer's instructions, as a minimum of pressure is required to operate the shower, which obviously you are unable to achieve with the current water feed!

As above you really should use the mains supply pipe i would not advise using a pump on an electric shower. If you have a gravity supply chances are there is a main nearby supplying the gravity tank.
