Damp Proofing

Airbrick height

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.32 PM

My airbricks were level with ground for over 5 years, also no insulation in the external wall so when we cut off the plasterboard, you could see day light. Could this cause condensation damp?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there Usually to have an air flow helps against condensation, a lot of times when you take skirtings away you can see the tops of air bricks and through to day light, this is not a problem, being level with the ground could be a problem if the brick is letting water through, better insulation always helps.
